Welcome to my first posting of my first ever blog! What a momentous day for me. After months of dipping my toes into the biblioblogosphere pond, I’m now diving right in! What, you ask, has spurred me to jump right in? Why, the CJRLC Tech Challenge! The good folks at the Central Jersey Regional Library Cooperative are encouraging us CJRLC-member librarians to have fun with the exciting world of web tools like del.icio.us and Flickr, with an aim towards applying these sites to library services.
I’ve been really excited about Library 2.0 for a while, but have so far been taking the passive approach, reading blog post after blog post but never getting directly involved. This meager blog is my first step towards being a part of Libary 2.0, not just an interested bystander.
So I’ll start my foray into blogland by saying thanks to the folks at CJRLC for dreaming up this challenge, and giving me a good excuse to not be lazy anymore!
Congratulations on jumping in! A big part of Library 2.0 is just attitude – being willing to try things, explore how they can be used, and taking the time to play. Your willingness to do these things is a wonderful asset. Have fun!
